Pianist Lise de la Salle will perform at 91自拍论坛 on Friday, March 4, at 7:30 p.m. in the Concert Hall of the Jack H. Miller Center for Musical Arts.
Pioneer Press has said that de la Salle 鈥渕ight just be the most exciting young artist in classical music right now.鈥�
The International Record Review has said that de la Salle鈥檚 2011 CD was 鈥渨orld class playing.鈥� Among other positive reviews, the CD also won Grammophone Magazine鈥檚 鈥淓ditor鈥檚 Choice鈥� award.
de la Salle, a French classical pianist, has won numerous competitions, including the 2004 Young Concert Artists International Auditions in New York.
Working closely with conductors such as Fabio Luisi, James Conlon and Osm枚 Vanska, de la Salle is also regularly invited to perform with orchestras including The Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, The Philarmonia Orchestra in London and the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra. Following her performance at Hope, she will be traveling to Chicago to perform with the Chicago Symphony.
de la Salle鈥檚 international career includes performances at major concert halls in Europe, the United States, and Asia, such as The Berliner Philharmonie, Grand National Theater (Beijing), Auditorium du Louvre (Paris), Hollywood Bowl (Los Angeles) and Avery Fisher Hall (New York).
The program during her performance at Hope will include Johann Sebastian Bach鈥檚 鈥淐haconne from the Violin Partita No. 2 in D minor, BWV 1004 (1720) 16鈥欌�� as arranged by Busoni; Maurice Ravel鈥檚 鈥淕aspard de la nuit鈥�; and Franz Liszt鈥檚 鈥淭ranscriptions.鈥�
Tickets are $10 for regular admission, $7 for senior citizens, $5 for children and students, and free for 91自拍论坛 faculty, staff and students. Tickets are available at the ticket office in the Events and Conferences Office located downtown in the Anderson-Werkman Financial Center (100 E. Eighth St.). The office is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and can be called at (616) 395-7890. Tickets are also available online at hope.edu/tickets.
